O “Hello World Project” é uma iniciativa mundial criada pelo designer iraniano Farshad Aref-far, para celebrar o Dia Mundial da Paz (21 de Setembro) e para a qual foram convidados 130 designers e ilustradores de 75 países."Olá" é uma palavra internacional que serve para conectar todas as pessoas no Mundo, é sinónimo de paz e respeito e é muitas vezes seguido de um aperto de mão, um abraço ou um beijo.

Cada artista ficou encarregado de ilustrar um "hello" ou saudação na sua língua nativa, através da tipografia, caligrafia, hand-lettering e incorporar elementos representativos dos seus países.Escolhi como tema “Os Descobrimentos”, pois para além de ser o feito mais relevante do Povo Português, é também na minha opinião, adequado ao projeto, no sentido em que Portugal no século XV deu a conhecer ao Mundo novas Terras Distantes, criou novas relações com povos e estreitou laços com outros tantos conhecidos já na data.

Numa época em que imperavam os mitos náuticos sobre monstros oceânicos, o medo do Desconhecido ou até mesmo do Fim do Mundo, os Portugueses deram inicio àquilo vinha a ser conhecido como a "Era dos Descobrimentos”, um período histórico europeu que mapeia o Novo Mundo e deu origem à Globalização.
Tentei transmitir a ideia de luta e coragem que os portugueses tiveram ao navegar em águas desconhecidas, através da corrente marítima e turbulência ao longo das letras / palavra, bem como mencionar alguns dos destinos mais importantes descobertos em segundo plano.

The "Hello World Project" is a worldwide initiative created by Iranian designer Farshad Aref-far to celebrate World Peace Day (September 21st) in which 130 designers and illustrators from 75 countries were invited."Hello" is an international word that serves to connect all people in the World, is synonymous with peace and respect and is often followed by a handshake, a hug or a kiss.

Each artist was in charge of illustrating a "hello" or greeting in their native language, through the typography, calligraphy, hand-lettering and incorporate elements representative of their countries.I chose as the theme "The Discoveries", because in addition to being the most relevant achievement of the Portuguese People, it is also in my opinion, appropriate to the project, in the sense that Portugal in the XV century gave the world new Distant Lands, relations with people and tightened ties with other so many known already on the date.

At a time when the nautical myths about oceanic monsters, fear of the Unknown or even the End of the World prevailed, the Portuguese gave birth to what came to be known as the "Age of Discovery", a European historical period that maps the New World and gave birth to Globalization.
I tried to convey the idea of ​​struggle and courage that the Portuguese had when sailing in unknown waters, through the maritime current and turbulence along the letters / word, as well as mention some of the most important destinations discovered in the background.
